Christmas: It’s Coming!
If you are like me, you probably realized with a shock this week that Christmas is only a month away! The panic set in as I began to think about the shopping that I need to get done in the next four weeks and to envision the crowded parking lots at the mall and the long lineups at the cash.
Should there be curlers on your shopping list, you can find many gift ideas at Goldline. For the new curlers on your list: if they have been using sliders when delivering their rocks, a pair of shoes would be [...]

Christmas: It’s Coming!

Other than shoes, a curling broom is one of the most important pieces of equipment in which you will invest as a curler. While the basic features of the broom have remained relatively stable over time, Goldline has always found way in which you can express yourself out on the ice.
Last season, Goldline introduced an exciting new series of NHL curling brooms, featuring the logos of our seven Canadian NHL teams. This year, we’re excited to bring even more new options to the table.
1) New Colours
In addition to the ever popular choices of Candy Apple, Metallic White, Metallic Blue and Metallic [...]

The Norway pad: it has taken the world by storm!
The Norway pad (featuring M-Brush technology) is a high performance pad that was introduced by Goldline last season. If you’ve not seen or used the Norway pad, here are the key things you need to know:
The surface of the pad has noticeable ridges. The ridges of the pad are where the vast majority of the debris is captured. The pad itself is also very firm.
Key to the efficiency of the pad is its waterproof fabric: even in the late ends of a game, you will still see frost accumulation on the surface [...]
Posted on March 6, 2013 by ErinBefore the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, we were asked how the U.S. Olympic curling teams could set themselves apart. Goldline came up with the idea of doing customized curling brooms, and had unique designs created for each of the American, Canadian and Swiss Olympic curling teams. Ever since we hooked up with Steve Lobel, a senior graphic designer, and part time curler, from Lobel Designs based out of Whitby, Ontario, the level of sophistication in our designs has hit a new peak.
Posted on February 19, 2013 by PaiviIn an earlier blog post, we outlined the primary differences in curling brushes, with one of the first items mentioned being the material comprising the brush shaft. Typically brush shafts are made of carbon fiber or fiberglass, or some combination of the two. If we were to draw an analogy with cars, a 100% carbon fiber brush would be the Cadillac, while brushes with shafts containing fiberglass would be considered your basic Volkswagon.
Posted on February 1, 2013 by ErinGoldline now carries curling brooms, imprinted pads and covers that feature logos of your favourite Canadian NHL teams: Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, Winnipeg Jets, Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators, and Montreal Canadiens.
Posted on January 14, 2013 by Dr. GoldlineDr. Goldline, how often should I replace my curling brush head?
As curlers we all know that sweeping is key in cleaning the ice surface and helping a rock get closer to its intended destination. If we put aside the cleanliness of the ice, which is largely out of your control, there are three primary factors that impact the expected life of a brush head: position, pressure and playing frequency.
Posted on November 28, 2012 by ErinIt has been a long wait for the NHL curling brooms to arrive at Goldline, but they are finally here! Canada’s favourite sport: Is it hockey? Is it curling? There’s no need to choose. Take your passion for hockey out onto the curling ice and sweep that winning shot into the house using an exclusive NHL-licensed broom from Goldline!
Posted on November 12, 2012 by Dr. GoldlineIn a curling game, players other than the skip throw only two rocks but sweep six others. Given the importance of sweeping, it should come as no surprise that curling brooms are the second most important piece of curling equipment, ranking only behind curling shoes. When choosing a broom, there are three key things you need to consider: the material comprising the shaft/handle, the diameter of the broom shaft, and the type of head.
Posted on October 1, 2012 by ErinThe Norway Pad, with M-Brush Technology, is an extra firm waterproof pad that offers less resistance on the ice surface. Due to its distinct construction, it “polishes” rather than breaks down ice pebble, allowing for increased frequency of sweeping with less energy required. This unique innovation has been brought to us by Hallgeir (Hal) Moen, and is available exclusively through Goldline Curling.
