Homan prepares to take on the world!

Starting this weekend is the women’s world curling championships in Riga, Latvia. Go Homan Go! Rachel Homan and her team from Ottawa curled incredibly well to capture the Scotties title and must be viewed as a very strong contender to win a gold medal at the worlds.

Getting to know Goldline Ambassador Geoff Walker

We are proud to introduce you to Geoff Walker, lead on the Brad Gushue team out of Newfoundland Labrador. After a week of heavy sweeping at the Brier, Geoff is undoubtedly catching his breath this week, and readying up for the next event on their calendar.

Big Ben!

This week’s featured Goldline ambassador is the lead on the team skipped by Kevin Martin. Ben Hebert has achieved much success out on the curling ice, having won a gold medal at the world junior championships, 2 Briers, a gold and silver at the world championships, and a gold medal at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, as well as numerous other curling events and titles. The Martin team recently won the Alberta provincial playdowns, thereby earning the opportunity to play for another Brier title in front of a hometown crowd.

Getting to know Goldline Ambassador Chris Schille

In just a few short weeks, the Canadian men’s curling championship begins in Edmonton, Alberta. One of the teams vying for the coveted Brier crown is the Saskatchewan squad headed by Brock Virtue. Getting to know Goldline Ambassador Marc Kennedy

With the men’s provincial playdowns starting across the country this week and next, Goldline would like to highlight Marc Kennedy, who is hoping to gain a berth into the Brier. At just 31 years of age, he has an Olympic gold medal, 2 Brier titles and a world championship under his belt. He’s a heavy hitter out on the ice, and is one of the strongest sweepers in the game.

Meet Goldline Ambassador: Geri-Lynn Ramsay

This is Goldline Ambassador Brad Gushue

At the young age of 32, Brad Gushue has accumulated more curling accolades than most of us will acquire in a lifetime. He’s a former national and world junior champion. He has represented the province of Newfoundland 9 times at the Brier – he won silver in 2007 and bronze in 2011 - and he has hopes of representing the province a tenth time at the 2013 Brier in Edmonton next March.

Introducing Goldline Ambassador Bronwen Webster

We are proud to introduce you to Goldline ambassador, Bronwen Webster, vice for the team skipped by Shannon Kleibrink. Bronwen has been on the curling scene for many years, having made numerous Alberta Scotties’ appearances. She was part of the Kleibrink team that finished second at the 2008 Canadian Women’s curling championships (she also played in the 2011 Scotties) as well as at the 2009 Canadian Olympic curing trials.
