The first major event of the curling season, the OCT (Ontario Curling Tour) Championship, was held September 6-9th at the Oakville Curling Club. When the dust had settled, Brad Jacobs and his Sault Ste Marie team had emerged as the victors on the men’s side of the draw.

On the women’s side, the team skipped by Erika Brown from the U.S.A. came out on top. The vice on the Brown team is none other than Debbie McCormick, a 3-time Olympian, a six-time world medallist at both the junior and senior levels of play (including the gold medal in 2003), and a key individual distributor for Goldline in the U.S.A. Over the course of the competition, Debbie used Goldline’s new horse hair brush and she had nothing but praise for it: “The horse hair broom was extremely light. Sweeping seemed effortless!”

This past weekend, the AMJ Campbell Shorty Jenkins Classic was played at Brockville Country Club. The caliber of the field was extremely high. Goldline extends sincere congratulations to Eve Muirhead and her team from Scotland for their runner up finish in the women’s final!

We’re also very proud of Crystal Webster and her Alberta team for the runner up finish in the Shoot Out this past weekend in Edmonton, which featured a stellar field including Jennifer Jones, Chelsey Carey, Cathy Overton-Clapham, Heather Nedohin and many of the other top teams in the country.

And coming up this weekend is the KW Fall Classic; stay tuned to our next newsletter for results from this great event!
