Head First Protective Curling Headgear: Baseball Hat

Perfect fit for my husband - great to have head safety while on the ice!

Fit is good but could be a little better. Not big on the exterior material. Have had it on previous items and it pulls easily and I know it will not look good for long. The protective pad sits where it should for the most part, but a soft layer before the hard pad would aid with head impacts. I know this from experience as I took a bad fall shortly after getting this item a hit my head hard directly on the pad. It prevented a major concussion but I still had a concussion and no none of my unprotected head hit the ice. GOLDLINE RESPONSE: Thank you for your feedback, DPW. I used to think I didn't need to worry about head protection when curling, but then I took a nasty fall backward while sweeping, suffering a serious concussion with some bleeding in my brain. My family and doctors have convinced me that having some form of head protection while on the ice is critical - my very LIFE may depend on it! I wore my bicycle helmet to curl when first cleared to return to the ice, but was pointed to this by friends at the club. Now that it's here and I've gotten to curl while wearing it, I'm quite impressed! This hat is so much more comfortable than other helmets and is similar in style to what I would typically wear before my fall. I like the chin-strap to be sure the hat doesn't come off during a fall BEFORE the impact! Thanks so much for the range of different styles that you offer!

hat is great -- it feels and looks like a normal hat -- chin strap feels fine when on the ice and folds away otherwise -- haven't tried falling backwards to see if it works but will keep you posted... -- great to be out curling again, feeling safe and looking good (my partner liked it so much she ordered the toque-version for herself)

Hat is great for what it is for, protecting from a fall.

I liked the fact that it came in 2 sizes, one of which was large enough. Seems like it gives good protection to the back of the head. Looks kind of goofy, but that doesn't bother me.

As expected. So far no head injuries from wearing it but I haven’t fallen yet either. With luck I’ll have noreason to put this hat tothe true test.
