Shannon Kleibrink has cemented her reputation in the curling world. She has many accomplishments to her credit, including a bronze medal at the 2006 Turin Olympics, the distrinction of being the first female skip to win the Canadian Mixed championship in 2004, and multiple appearances and wins in some of the major curling events across Canada.
Seconds - We Get No Respect!
But, a skip does not a team make. It takes four people working together to achieve victory and success! In our features on Goldline Ambassadors over the last several editions of our newsletter, we have focused on the skips of some of our sponsored teams. We are going to switch it up a bit for the next few weeks, and focus on some of the supporting cast of players.
This week’s featured Goldline Ambassador is Kalynn Park, second on the team skipped by Shannon Kleibrink. Do the names Kalynn and Park sound familiar? If you’ve visited Goldline’s website or one of our retail stores, you may well be familiar with our Kalynn curling pants – designed by none other than Kalynn Park herself! And the Park name is well known in the Alberta curling community, with Kalynn’s father being none other than Kevin Park.
Kalynn is the new addition to the Kleibrink team this year. She has is an accomplished curler herself, winning a silver medal at the 2009 junior world curling championships.
We had the opportunity to chat with Kalynn this past week; please read on to learn more about Kalynn. You can also see Kalynn on YouTube in the feature, “Cullen and a Curler”.
We invite you to follow Kalynn and her team mates throughout this season. For the tweeters out there, you can follow team Kleibrink on Twitter on @TeamKleibrink, and Kalynn herself is at @MissKP33 (by the way, for those of you who have been following our profiles on Goldline ambassadors, Kalynn also mentions a certain Mr Hebert as her favourite curler to follow on Twitter!).
